EasyLife 365 Identity: Moving from Freemium to Focused Governance Plans

Since launching EasyLife 365 Identity in March 2025, we introduced the product with a freemium model. The goal was simple: make it easy for organizations to explore our approach to application identity governance in Microsoft Entra ID.

During this time, we learned a lot. We saw how organizations struggle with questions like:

• Who owns an application identity?
• Which secrets and certificates are about to expire?
• Which applications are inactive but still connected to the tenant?
• How can accountability and governance be enforced across environments?

These insights helped shape the next step for EasyLife 365 Identity. Your feedback helped us refine the key pillars and features of the product, strengthening the solid foundation that was already in place.

Moving Beyond Freemium

While the freemium model helped many teams get started, we realized that a long-term freemium offering does not match the product we want to build. Application identity governance is not a “nice to have”.

For many organizations, it is a critical infrastructure.

To continue investing in reliability, security, innovation, and support, we are moving to a paid plan structure.

This allows us to focus on organizations that rely on EasyLife 365 Identity every day and ensures we can continue improving the product.

Introducing the New Plans

EasyLife 365 Identity will now be available in two plans.

Basic

Essential app identity governance for organizations that want visibility and accountability without operational overhead.

Basic includes:

• App identity dashboard with centralized visibility
• Overview of application identities and service principals
• Credential expiration insights and trend tracking
• Monitoring of expiring and expired secrets and certificates
• Application owner management
• Assignment of business and technical owners
• Client secret generation and certificate management
• Secure credential exchange
• Weekly credential scans
• Daily policy compliance checks
• Task creation for credential expirations and policy issues
• Email and Microsoft Teams notifications

Basic is ideal for teams that want governance running quietly in the background while preventing expired credentials.

Professional

Advanced governance and operational control for IT and security teams running production environments.

Professional includes everything in Basic, plus:

• Insights into unused and inactive enterprise applications
• Bulk ownership and policy changes
• Import and export for audits and onboarding
• Advanced environment management capabilities
• Upcoming automation and lifecycle management features

Professional is designed for organizations where application identities are part of daily operations, governance must be actively enforced, and compliance requirements such as ISO 27001 need to be supported.

Looking Ahead

Application identities are growing rapidly in Microsoft Entra ID environments. With that growth comes the need for stronger governance, ownership, and lifecycle management. Our focus remains the same: helping organizations bring clarity, accountability, and automation to application identity management.
